We began building Jamglue in June 2006 with a general idea to make it easy for musicians to collaborate over the internet. As the idea evolved, we got excited about making it easy for musicians and non-musicians alike to play around with music and learn more about how it fits together. Music is really hard to make; we figure with some good web-based tools and a community of collaborators, we can make it easy and fun.

Jamglue publicly launched in December 2006, and the community has grown to over one million registered users who've made over two million mixes on the site.
